Jewellery Care Tips
In order to enjoy your jewellery for a long time, it is important that you follow a few basic and very simple rules:
Cleaning Titanium,Tungsten Rings with Gemstones, CZ
You should be careful when cleaning titanium jewellery containing gemstone: Many stones,CZ can be damaged by ultrasonic cleaners or some jewellery cleaning solutions, so these options are not recommended unless you are certain that they are safe for your stones.
Choose a cleaning method that is appropriate for the particular gemstones you have and will not damage them. Diamonds are quite durable, but softer gems should be handled with care.
Do not soak your gemstone jewellery in water, and only use a soft, damp cloth to wipe dirt off your stones.
My Silver jewellery is discoloured ?
Although our sterling silver jewellery is coated with an anti-tarnish solution, once exposed to the atmosphere it may tarnish. Wear and tear depend on how regularly you wear your jewellery and how you care for them. .All sterling silver will tarnish over time, but it will happen much faster when it comes into contact with agents such as perfume, salty air, sulphur, skin creams, hairspray, chlorine and acidic skin ph. We do not cover faults caused by neglect, misuse or normal wear and tear. Tarnishing is therefore not a manufacturing fault.
We also recommend that you do not wear your jewellery whilst bathing, whilst in bed or during sporting activities.
We recommend you protect your jewellery by wrapping it soft fabric or in an air tight sealable bag and storing it in a cool, dry place, keeping individual pieces separate to avoid scratching.
Rose and Yellow Gold Plated Jewellery
Gold plated jewellery will wear off over time, however you can ensure that it lasts as long as possible taking extra care when wearing, storing and cleaning. How long this will take depends on how regularly you wear your jewellery and how you care for it. Please take care when handling gold plated jewellery to protect the layer of gold from excess wear and scratching. Always remove your gold plated jewellery when applying perfume and cosmetics. When removed please make sure to keep all jewellery in separate pouches or boxes to prevent pieces rubbing and scratching against one another.
Is a Titanium ring scratch-proof?
Titanium is durable and much stronger than platinum, silver, and gold, it is not completely scratch resistant. Titanium rings can obtain scratches and scuff marks like any other metal, due to everyday use and natural wear and tear. Scratching of any metal, including titanium, can happen within one day or one year - there is not a certain time from when scratching and wear will begin to occur. This is why you should remove your titanium rings and other jewellery when engaging in activities that can expose your items to the risk of bumps, hits and damage.
Please avoid wearing it when you are in the shower or in the swimming pool. The chlorine found in the water can damage the other metals in your titanium jewellery.
Do Tungsten Rings Break?
One of the most popular and in-demand types of wedding rings today is the tungsten carbide wedding band. This is because of the great number of benefits found in them compared to wedding rings or bands made from platinum, gold and other precious metals. One of the main reasons people choose tungsten carbide rings is because they are the hardest metal on earth. But tungsten rings can shatter when enough force is applied to them. This means that instead of bending like a gold ring, tungsten will break. So in a critical moment, the band will break without harming a finger.
Can Titanium or Tungsten Carbide ring be cut off?
In an emergency situation where there might be a medical necessity to remove the band (such as hand or finger injury) Titanium rings can be cut off with manual or power ring cutters. A high quality, diamond coated disc or tempered tool steel blade is required to cut titanium rings. A diamond blade will make the job much easier and quicker. It will also last much longer than a tool steel blade.
The most common method of removing Tungsten rings from your finger is by using a pair of vice grips. The vice grips apply enough pressure that the tungsten ring fractures safely. Most emergency personnel have this common tool, as well as your local hospital emergency rooms. You can call your local hospital to check ahead of time, and ask if they have a vice grip wrench or locking pliers that can crack a tungsten ring off because they cannot be cut off.

Black, Gold Tungsten and Coloured Tungsten
Tungsten is naturally silver in colour, and so all variations such as Black Tungsten or Coloured Tungsten are achieved through a process called ion plating. Ion plating is a modern resurfacing technique that utilises atomic-sized particles to create a hard coating on the surface of the tungsten. Superior to traditional techniques such as electroplating, ion plating has an increased bonding strength to deliver a smooth surface and lasting results, and you can use it to create any colour. While ion plating offers good scratch-resistance, particularly when compared to traditional jewellery materials such as silver and gold, it is not as scratch-resistant as tungsten itself. You can damage Ion-plated tungsten with abrasive surfaces, harsh chemicals, and hard materials such as wood, metal, and tiles. Repetitive contact with items such as a mobile phone or computer mouse can also cause surface scratches, and so extra care is advised. To keep your ion-plated tungsten jewellery in perfect condition, it is recommended that you remove tungsten rings before playing sports, working out at the gym, washing dishes, swimming, or handling metal objects, just as you would with your gold or silver ring to protect it against scratches. As one of the hardest materials used in jewellery making today, tungsten has a long list of benefits, and with a little extra care, ion-plated tungsten rings will last a lifetime.
